Single Line Fonts in Rhino 7
Complex CNC parts need indexing against a parts catalogue so that a fabricator knows which part is which. Here's how Single-Line Fonts allow you to speed up your production:
Typically, part codes and references are engraved on redundant scrap material adjacent to each cut part, or are indiscreetly engraved out of customer view when cut reverse side up. As these comments are not intended to feature on the "show" side of a plate or panel, the text is not intended to be visible. In CNC manufacture, any process that saves time also reduces the cost of manufacture. This is where Single-Line Fonts come into their own. Unlike the standard double-line fonts, it takes about half of the time to engrave with CNC routers, mills, or laser cutters / engravers.
